After graduating from medical school in Cape Town, South Africa Dr Whitley immigrated to Australia where he completed his registrar training in Radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

He completed his fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in 2015 and in 2016 undertook a further Interventional Neuroradiology fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Currently in his final year of his Neurointerventional fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Dr Whitley performs a wide range of general interventional procedures and has particular interests in acute stroke imaging, endovascular clot retrieval and neurointervention.
