Unitingcare Medical Imaging (UCMI) is a joint venture between the I-MED Radiology Network and UnitingCare Health. The joint venture was established in April 2010 as Wesley Medical Imaging at the Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower in Brisbane. UCMI has grown steadily since then and now operates five comprehensive radiology practices throughout Queensland with a highly experienced team of radiologists, technical and administrative staff.
In 2014 St Stephen’s Medical Imaging commenced operations in Hervey Bay and Maryborough, Sunshine Coast Medical Imaging at The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital in Buderim opened in January 2015 and in August 2016 UCMI opened the doors of its newest clinic, St Andrew's Medical Imaging at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Spring Hill. UCMI undertook an extensive refurbishment at St Andrew’s Hospital due for completion in November 2016. Cutting edge technology and state of the art imaging equipment will allow the clinic to offer one of the most advanced medical imaging services in the country. Four of the five clinics are located on the campus of a UnitingCare Health Hospital, some of Queensland’s most prestigious private tertiary facilities. Our locations allow us to provide our patients and referrers the peace of mind that comes with being co-located with a full emergency department and other tertiary medical services on hand.
UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services which operates almost 1,000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4,100 people. This year the group of hospitals will admit just under 100,000 Queenslanders and perform around 66,000 surgical procedures.
As a part of the I-MED Radiology Network – Australia’s largest private diagnostic imaging network – we are tapped into the forefront of new technology, and connected to the knowledge and services of over 180 clinics around Australia. This provides our referrers and patients with an unprecedented depth of resources at their disposal.
In healthcare, providing timely, accurate information with understanding is paramount. At UCMI, we understand that our services are a key part of this care path. As one of Queensland’s largest and most comprehensive diagnostic and interventional radiology groups, we are committed to providing the highest quality of medical imaging and diagnostic services within an environment of care, compassion and convenience for our patients and our referring clinicians. At UCMI we pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to patient care and we firmly believe that building strong relationships with our referring clinicians is fundamental in achieving optimal outcomes.
